    The Nossrat Yassini Poetry Festival

    April 12-14, 2024

Schedule of Events

The first annual Nossrat Yassini Poetry Festival is coming this spring, April 12-14, 2024, with a full (FREE!) weekend of readings, workshops, multi-genre performances, a small press fair, and an outdoor poetry carnival. Headliners include Diannely Antigua, Camille Dungy, and Alexandria Peary. And you! We'll be putting out a call for community proposals soon.

Friday, April 12, 2024

We'll kick off our poetry celebration with a full-day of student programming, bringing 200+ New Hampshire students to UNH for generative writing workshops with poets, followed by an open mic.

Later that evening, we’ll have our opening reception and headline reading, which will include our visiting poet Diannely Antigua and the winners of the New Hampshire Teen Poetry Prize.

Saturday, April 13, 2024

Saturday we’ll have a full day of community-sourced programming, a poetry carnival, a small press fair, and headline readings from Camille Dungy, New Hampshire poet laureate Alexandria Peary, as well as the winners of our two book prizes. We also have some poetry tricks up our sleeves… If you can only attend one day, this is the one you don’t want to miss!

Sunday, April 14, 2024

Sunday we’ll have a poetry brunch and reading, and honor the winners of our Wildcats Poetry Prize.

Want to get involved? We’ll be looking for folks to help us plan the Festival, putting out a call for event proposals and volunteers, as well as readers for our contests. Please keep an eye out for our newsletters and/or follow us on social media to find out more. Specific questions or suggestions?
