The Nossrat Yassini Poetry Prize honors a first book published by a U.S. poet of genuine promise in the previous calendar year with a $10,000 award and a headline reading at the Nossrat Yassini Poetry Festival. This year’s final judge will be the renowned poet Cornelius Eady. Deadline: December 12, 2025.

The Granite State Poetry Prize is a $5,000 publication prize given annually for a previously unpublished poetry collection of extraordinary quality written by an emerging or established New Hampshire poet. The winner will have their book launch at the Nossrat Yassini Poetry Festival. The final judge for this year's award is award-winning poet Diannely Antigua. Deadline: November 1, 2025.

The Wildcats Poetry Prize is now open to students enrolled on any USNH campus. Two first and two second prize winners will be awarded $1,000 and $500 prizes respectively, and all will be considered for publication in our annual anthology. Deadline November 1, 2025.

The New Hampshire Teen Poetry Prize is now open. Students (ages 13-19) across New Hampshire are invited to submit their original poetry for a chance at publication, as well as three monetary prizes of $500 each! Deadline November 15, 2025.

Two New Hampshire teachers will receive a $1,000 poetry prize for their good work getting poetry off the page and into their classrooms. We want to hear about your writing workshops, slams, zines, lunchtime haiku teams...all the creative ways you get students putting what they think and feel into words. Deadline March 1, 2026.
